Why do you need a dizzy puller? You can just pull them out by hand.

In a pinch you can jam a pencil or something into the thread and pull it out but if it's tight it can be a bitch

Also watch the washers dont fall in.

Have you removed the fuel pump and base?
A set of outside C-clip pliers sometimes works in the drive slot, making sure to turn anticlockwise as it comes up, but as Joel said, the shims can be a biatch.
I'll sell you a new one if you want tho, can post tomorrow (mon).
