Ghia Seats

Hi Guys

I am looking for some nice leather seats for my ghia and have seen lots of good buys on ebay from other vehicles of course.
Any suggestions as to what may fit well eg.BMW, Merc, Falcon.

I'm with Sides. In a Ghia you sit much lower than a beetle. While the Ghia is wider you will find getting a normal high back seat in a bit difficult, especially if you want it to recline forward.

Also, low back seat in Ghia look heaps better than high back. The high backs in Ghias started in the USA models around 1970 due to safety issues. My 71 is German spec so has the low back seats and definitely looks sweeter than the yank models.

I think VVDS has some very nice low backs that would fit in nicely.

Mate, keep it original, go to a good trimmer and rebuild/retrim your existing seats. You'll be surprised how comfortable they are. They are of the perfect design in my opinion. Anything modern just looks so out of place, especially highbacks.

WRX seats in my type3 fit great (hight & width) and weren't to difficult to fit to the original runners. And they recline!

I agree that lowbacks look better but as a daily driver, mostly used on the freeway - major safety concern. I kept the original lowbacks which is why the wrx buckets are mounted to type3 runners.
