Hi guys what width tyre can you go up to on a standard 64 beetle rim any help would be great thanks

165mm. They're about the only standard size tyres you can get now for those rims.

I recently renewed my tyres and the only ones available were a brand called Nankang (Taiwanese) and the size is 165R15 with an 80 series profile.

you can safely go up to 185R15 in a variety of profiles

Try to avoid going too low a profile. Your ride will be harder and your speed will be affected by the smaller overall diameter of the wheel/tyre assembly, and your fuel consumption will go up.
