new interior for my 67 beetle
Hello all, I am on the look out for a new interior(seat covers and door trims) for my 1967 beetle.where would be the best place to buy new ones, I
live in Adelaide South Australia. The car is Surf blue with white trim so a blue and off white might be the go. Does anyone know how much I may have to
pay for them, Thanks Gary

I have been intouch with Brad and what he has to offer is great, thanks for the lead barls. Now can someone tell me what seats are meant to be in my
car. All the research I have done so far says that the seats changed from 1965 to 1967. My seat seam to look like the seats from a pre 64. could
someone post a picture of the seats for a 1967. Thanks Gary

Hey gazzac,
I have a aussie built '67 Deluxe. I have ordered a set of seat covers, door cards and carpet from Brad - and they should be here in a week or so.
I'll put piccies up here when I can.
As to the seat for your car, well my current ones look like the following - which are the correct ones for 1967. Sorry about the quality, but I hope
the piccies help.

air is cool, but air-cooled is cooler!

it would appear that the front seats are from a pre 64 model as they are a smooth vinyl but the rear are the same vinyl as in the picture.

Aussie '65-'67 front seats had 'roll tops' like Old Timer's photo - the tops of the front seat backs were curved front-to-back. The 1964 and
earlier seats had 'flat' tops on the front seats.
The '65-'67 rear seats were changed to be able to fold completely flat for for better storage space. The 1964 and earlier rear seat could still fold
forward, but didn't sit flat and had a gap between the back and the squab.
Aussie '65-66 vinyls were very similar to the '64 and earlier, usually contrasting two-colour seats and side panels. The vinyls were simplified for
'67 and are one colour only. The door panels have simplified pleatings, but the seat vinyls have that 'basketweave' centres that weren't used
before.

Thanks for that Phil74Camper. My front seats are flat on the tops so they are pre 64. the back seat has the folding flat and the basketweave centres
so the back seat would be correct. SO the next question is does anyone have a set of front seats that they would like to sell for a 1967? or a swap
for pre 64 seats? In adealaide SA

No worries. As for the door cards, Australian 1960-67 ones are the same shape and layout, with two round holes for the handle and window winder.
However the US ones for 65-67 are different. They had different door handles with a rectangular boss and recessed handle, like the Aussie '68s and
later. The Euro/US models used a different body shell after 1965, whereas Aussie ones used the same earlier one until 1968.
So yes, if you're buying from the USA, make sure you order for 1964 and earlier.
