My Volksy's Freaking me out! Worried it will catch on fire :(
Hi there,
I'm having some issues with my squareback, hopefully someone can help out.
For a while, when i turned on the heating, it would smell really bad, so i ended up just leaving it off. But then recently I noticed the rocker covers
were leaking. I left it for a little while and then they started to leak really bad, so I changed them over, and that stopped the leaking but now if i
put the heater on after a bit of a drive, some serious fumes come out. And once even smoke, after which I stopped the car immediately and freaked the
hell out!
I'm guessing that some oil must have leaked into the heating system because there was no smoke anywhere else that I could find. I'm going to give it
a massive look over next week some time but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I could do to fix this. It's kinda freaking me
out.
Thanks
Pete.

Replace the rocker cover gaskets to hopefully stop more oil getting into the heater box's and degrease the area both inside and out of the heater
box's. Then you may need to get the engine nice and hot to burn out some but eventually if you stop the leaks all will be good.

Thanks Guys,
I've never opened the heater boxes before. But I'll have a look at it when I check it all out.
Hey Silver, yeah I have one of those . The thing that was freaking me out
the most is that it was coming from the heating vents.
