the new mk2


since the wife took our mk2 down south i needed a new daily, hows this for a score? 1k with 6 mths rego :D runs like a dream.
add some 16" simmons care of old egay.

It's a GTI. MK 2's only made it over to Australia in the form of GTI's and Cabriolet's. It was during Volkswagens rough patch, so hence not many GTI's actually made it over here. Very happy to have 2 now :yes:

Nice score. What year? People complain because the Australian MK 2 GTI is downrated from the Euro spec model and only 8 valve rather than 16 valve.

Correct, except I don't think there is such a thing as a Mk2 cabby (not in Australia, anyway). The golf cabbys available until the early '90s were essentially modernised Mk1s - not to my taste though.
