Not really. The Phat Boy is just a muffler, which bolts on to the standard three-bolt header flange used by most bug headers which merge in the middle
below the rear valance. The sidewinder is a header which merges horizontally across the rear of the car behind the valance and exits sideways into a
muffler under the RHS rocker cover. I bought one at Day of the VW SA and it sounds great!

I'm looking to a buy a new exhaust system soon, and was throwing up between these 2 as well. Just wondering would there be any installation problems
on a 1600dp, with the rear apron exhaust cut-outs filled in? I'm looking to upgrade to twin carbies in the future, so i would like something that
would hopefully compliment the exhaust in regards to power increase.

I'm pretty sure both styles do not utilise the original cut outs.
PS apparently there are sidewinder exhausts and there are side winder exhausts... check where they are madeand quality

Sidewinders are built abit more performace orientated than than a fatboy and a 4into1 header, the collector is properly laid out in the correct firing
order.
I've seen someone on the samba who has modified a sidewinder to fit stock cutouts
