speedo mph to kph

Being born in the metric era I am more used to kph than imperial. Add to that the astounding array of speed limits, I am looking for a decal or another idea as to how to change my speedo over to kph readings. I know you can buy a new one but there are around 300 reasons why I wont do that.

hi there, with mine i went to a sign writer that does the vinyl stickers that are cut out with the computer cutter and got them to do a heap of numbers in a fluro colour.I then dismantled the speedo and stuck them on the backing in the right places then put it back together.You can convert the m/h to k/h to help put them in the proper place.i only did the 60, 80, 100 and 110 ones and placed them just under the m/h numbers so you could still see both.I have seen the stick on ones that go on the outside of the glass but if the glass moves your going to be wrong lol.
cheers :starhit:

Hello,

A conversion table is very useful - http://calculator-converter.com/converter_mph_per_miles-hour_to_km-hour_calcu...

You could stick a post note to your dash.
Listing, say, the important speed limits,

EG:

km/h = mph

40 = 25
50 = 31
60 = 37
70 = 43
80 = 50
90 = 56
100 = 62
110 = 68
150 = 93
250 = 155
300 = 186

Once memorised, remove the post it note.

:)

I have a GPS but rarely use it.. and NEVER check the speeds on it anyway... [should have when I got radar gun police going to nationals last year] as I don't believe I was speeding... Lee
