Brake fluid again.
Just been reading the fine print on the back of the brake fluid container (dot 4). It says it is synthetic and not for cars requiring petrolium based
fluid..... "eg old Citrons."
I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on wether petrolium or synthetic based is best for the air cooled beetle. While you can get hoses to suit either
type .... there is no choice as to the type of seal in the master cylinder. The print on the container was VERY fine and there was no otherr reference
to the two types on the labels.
Would be interested in anyones thoughts as it occurs to me that the wrong type could break down the rubber bits.
