WTB: QLD working auto gearbox to suit 94 VR6

G'day all, having issues with auto box in my golf and wanting to know if anybody has a serviceble auto they have or possibly a manual box. Would prefer to keep it auto, the gearbox code starts with CFF and it's a 94 model, I was told these autos were weak to begin with and if not properly maintained and serviced become expensive very quickly, is it true that they are year specific with respect to autos. I:E a 96 box won't bolt straight up and different dip stick on the tranny. So..... Any help would be great, I am on the northern end of gold coast, PM is best contact or phone 0457467885 and leave pearls of wisdom or any info you may have. Kind thanks, Adam

Does anyone on this forum IN QLD have one of these golfs and have you used a VW mechanic or auto specialist with some degree of success or should I be looking outside Oz. I really like my golf but not prepared to spend four grand fixing it. Many thanks
