why wont it fit - help
got a box off a 76 bug, changed the gearbox nose cone to suit, hmmm wont fit.
gearbox too long, rear cradle 1 -2 inches short of going in. huh.
question is, do i need to change the front rubber bit on the chassis side. got me beat.
i have a superbug.
the nose cone is hard up against the front mount.

Ok, so the rear cradle points to the rear from the framehorn not to the front for a start.
Now depending what year the box is going in you may not need a diff nosecone but just the correct front mount. Later bugs had a 3 bolt chassis mount
but earliers had differing types of 2 bolt.
More detail is required. generally post 60's bugs used the same box with different mounts
madness is in the eye of the beholder
