im the new guy

Hey people

My names is Mick, i got into beetle last year when i needed a car real quick and my best mate (whose whole family is into volkswagens) sorted me out with a 68 with a practically new 1600 from brazil. i drove it for 6 months but then i needed something a bit more comfortable for my 2hours commute each day.

i couldnt bring myself to sell the car, so i kept it and recently acquired a fully restored pan and an acid dipped body of the same year and im planning to use all the running gear from my old car and use the new ones body and pan. lots of the gear from old car is shagged such as the tinwares which im currently chasing a decent set suitable for reuse, but im finding making the ugly old parts look new is aim of the game

im currently getting ready for paint, but long term im hoping to have basically a stock car just lowered a tad with black stockers and whitewalls and a few older styled parts. good cruiser and one comfortable enough to take trips up the coast

Good on ya and welcome aboard. I hope you have taken photos along the way as we all love to see build threads on here. If you do, go onto the members ride section and post up some photos.

Good to see the bug has bitten another

Cheers, Kev.

I thought rebuilding a VW would be cheap - Shit I was wrong, just don't let the wife know !!!!
