Daily-driver Parisien Beetle !!!

So we all know that cars in Paris need to be small, and they have a tough life... the touch parking that goes on here is unbelievable !!!

There's the run of the mill Peugeot, Renault and Citroen toy cars... plus Smart's are very common (at least 5 different models including a diesel)... and also plenty of late model Polo's, Golf's and the odd Scirocco.

Today tho... I spotted Beetle surviving the streets of Paris as a daily driver !!!

Looked to be in pretty good shape too. I'd be happy to caller her mine, other than being LHD of course.

Bet no plastic car will want to touch park against STEEL bumpers !!!

:D

Exactly the same way !!!

Seriously... actually stood and watched a Smart push the van parked behind it backwards in order to get out.

Was too dumbfounded to think to video it !!!

You obviously live in the country

If you spend enough time in Sydney you'll either see it, or see the evidence of it on your car when you return. I've learnt to park another street away if I'm going to the inner city, Parramatta CBD etc and just walk the extra block.

I agree that the metal bumpers would definitely make people think twice, but a Beetle is so light that people might just try and push it (or perhaps lift it) anyway.

My brother and 3 mates had trouble finding a park in newcastle once and found a mini that they could lift and turn nose in so they could find a park for the kingswwod.

I have a photo somewhere of 6 cars parked bumper to bumper in Paris, as I was taking the picture of them a girl came and got in one in the middle, my mates and I had a laugh and said how is she going to get that out, she then proceded to push some forward and the others backwards and she was gone, they dont use hand brakes, unreal, cheers Greg
