Exhaust recesses
This is a question that has been buggin me for a while... Did my '54(?) (chassis number -1- 0806336) beetle originally had only one exhaust pipe?
The recessions in the body appear to have been filled up so the panel between the rear guards is smooth.
Anyone got any ideas?
...and Robert's ya father's brother...

55 was the first year for twin pipes. The 54 and earlier only had the one pipe that poked out below the bottom of the rear apron. No cut outs
