L Bug Dash Switches

Hey all!

I'm currently installing something new and interesting into Zelda, but want a switch in the dash to turn this something on and off. Obviously her dash is different since she is an L bug, they are flick switches...

I want it to look the same as the current ones, I don't want it to look out of place. What is the best bet to do so and how difficult are they to source?

Is there such a thing as blank switches that look the same?

Any links would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

Used these Narva ones in my sons bug.

They fit in the stock hole with a bit of fettling. I also moved the other switches to the middle of the car so that I could fit gauges on the right side

Looks very nice indeed!

I still kinda want to try and source the original one for something and then take off whatever is on it.
What other rocker switches did the dash actually come with?
Mine only has the hazard light switch and headlamp switch on it.

You wont get blank ones, but there are ways around it, I've made my own blank one for now for my driving lights, just a hazard painted black.

but there was the other options like rear defrost, foglights and gas heater.

A freind in German is one day sending me a real Lbug foglight switch like this.
Think i need to rattle his chain again.

Mk1 Golf and T25/T30 Caravelles use the same switches too but they are mounted across ways so the logos would be wrong way around.

Even 924 and 944 Porsches use alot of Lbug parts including lots of electrical as well.

Notice the VW90 Hazard switch, defrost switch, Lbug fasten seatbelt/handbrake light and ignition switch

They also use Lbug headlight switch and 74 onwards Lbug glovebox latch.

Joel,

I'm pretty sure I am going to do that, get a hazard switch and paint it black.
Will be the easiest way to do what I want.

Might even get a little stencil or leave a tiny bit of it still showing through red, so that when it is on it lights up a little.
Would be good.
