Head down to your local honda wreckers and get a set of seats out of a early Honda Integra as they are a nice comfy seat , are not to high , and are quite easy to mount either with there runners or welding brackets to a beetle seat base and bolting the seat to vw base where it would normally bolt to the honda runner .
My local honda wrecker charges $88 for a pair in good nick and should be paying around the same .
Sorry can't show you mine as mine are mounted in a 77 Kombi

Damn that's cheap. if I were you, I'd be snapping these up. Seats don't get any better than Recaros.

I had Honda CRX seats in my old Baja. They were comfy as, and they only cost me $100 for the pair.

Nope, Just cut the spring clips, and everything I didn't need off the original seat bases, ditched the rails off the CRX seats and welded them directly to the bases. I probably could've made them bolt on, but i didn't see the point.
