RustyDub's rides.
We have a new addition to the Rustydub family. Yep, it's one of those e-bay specials. We now have in the garage/driveway a 70 type 3 Notch, who is
known around the traps as Rusty and whom the Rustydub dynasty is named after. Then we have Bertie the 72 beetle, Massy the little gray Polo and the
new kid on the block is Weiber a 70 model beetle.
I guess the worst thing about being "the winning bidder" is arranging the pick-up, I decided to make the big trip from Queanbeyan to Wodonga to
pick-up the newly acquired treasure and drive home.
My drive home lasted about 30 min, just enough time to get a little feel for the beast. Yep had the flashing of headlights in the mirror and it was
Mrs Rustydub waving frantically for me to pull over, I got out to find lots of oil smoke billowing from the deck lid and a rather large pool of oil
underneath. Yep the dream run was over. A quick look and my diagnoses was rear main seal. So it was Massy the little gray Polo to the rescue, he towed
the new Bug all the way back to Queanbeyan at an average speed of 100 Km/h, and used an extra $2 in diesel, much cheaper than a tow truck.

That region must be running out of old air-cooled veedubs. Mine came from there as well, but had to drive it all the way up to Sydney.
And btw nice collection.

Thanks mate, I hope that the white Beetle turns out ok, I'm going to do the paint myself. There was very little rust to fix. Most of the work done
was on the engine, it looks like it had a lot of good stuff in it, but taken out and replaced with incorrect old fitting parts, like the generator.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you.
