1962 original beetle white
Hi everyone, does anyone know the name of the original white of a 1962 beetle?

The 60s white was Polar white but they did also use a Pearl white same as Herbie around that early 60s period.
Going by the fact they havent painted inside and taped up the chrome strips I'd bet under the hood isnt painted either so you may find the sticker in
the spare wheel well still.
Makes me laugh the amount of effort it would take to tape up the chrome strips when a screw driver would have popped them off in seconds.

In the USA - 1962 Beetle (August '61-July '62)
Body colour - L87 Pearl White.
Of course, our '62 Beetle was built here in Clayton, not Wolfsburg.
I imagine L87 Pearl White, would be the same.
Sure the 'experts' here can confirm

Hi,
This is my first post here, been lurking a while
Hopefully my first one is helpful.
I've just re-sprayed my 67 and used Lotus White (Code is L282). It seems like its the closest to what my car was but who knows. It is definatly a VW
colour from that era though.
