Pre-ignition related to a bad regulator?
Hello,
I've just recently changed my dud regulator (it was not regulating) and have since noticed that my pre-ignition problem has gone. I've only
been driving it for about 4 days so I don't know if it has really gone for sure. I was just wondering if a dud regulator could send some current
to the engine after the ignition has been switched off.

Possibly
ANYTHING affecting electrics could have other effects (did i get my affect/effects right?)
The fact you were getting either bad/weak/too big volts out of the regulator could/would have some effect on the coil.
That said bad spark may effect the duration etc which may result in ping-ing

I haven't heard of that before... but anything is possible... I rewired My son's girlfriends Baja Bug and after a few months She
found that the engine would NOT turn off unless the brakes were applied.... Most of the time she had her foot on the brakes when She turned the engine
off... and NO Problems.... I believe the stop lights wiring must be the culprit and I am going to add a Diode to the circuit one day... until then..
its Brake and turn the engine off.... Unusual eeeh!! Lee (o\ /o)
