Stromberg carb linkage for bug. Anyone have any examples?

Have solved the hesitation prob. Its running great, but i rekon i can get more. With the lack of a decent linkage and the cable running at rediculous angles, i'm getting only 80% throttle (no WOT) and throttle not fully closing.

I got a few ideas, but was wondering if anyone had any pics of good working examples for inspiration? even better, would anyone have any sitting around they are willing to part with :) The biggest issue is that the throttle butterfly has to rotate in the opposite direction to open compared to the stock solex.

After this is solved, i will buy an adjustable main jet and bring back the fuel economy. I rekon the accelerator pump is a little rich too. Engine stays nice and cool though.

thanks,
Chris.

Would probably be best to post some pictures of your setup dude. Then people can give you advice on the best way to run it.

Is the Stromberg a common swap? I've not really heard of it before.

Chris I assume the stromberg is off an old holden,I ran a pair of these on a 1600 quite a few years ago,at that stage there was a few bugs running the singles. From memory we used a 28pci accelerator connector fitted upside down so it opened the carbin the right direction and redrilled the fan housing to change the angle of the cable tube.

Is that one of those old single barrel strommys I think they were off the 186 red motors and bolt straight upto a 34pict3 manifold?

A mate Superbug had one of them, what a pig of a carb.
If you've tuned the flat spot out I tip my hat to you.

I frigged with that for ages before drop kicking it down the paddock.

Thanks guys :tu: i will post a pic and have a look into that 28pict accelerator connector.

It is the old stromberg carb from the old holdens that bolts straight on. Joel i got the flat spot out. drilled out the idle tube a bit bigger, to 1mm, far larger than original (.787mm), and running the 009. Smoothest running carb i eva had on my donk :tu: Just need an adjustable main and see if i can lean out the accelerator pump a bit to bring back some fuel economy. I love it. My worn out solexes just kept giving me grief.
