shortened sump question
Anyone have the approximate dimensions of a shortened oil sump. I am looking for the one the uses the cross type design (hope that makes sence). I
purchased one from outfront motorsports here in California but I am affraid that it will not be short enough for my application. I want to TIG one
up. Just looking for some references. Thanks.

This is how mine was done by a local guy, its just level with the headers.

That's what I run one mine, you pay for them but they are incredibly well built.
Mine hits bottom regularly and all it's done is scratch the paint
Would cost a pretty penny by the time it landed in Cali though.
More capacity than stock subi yet 3.5" shorter than stock.

Hi
I just found the file that I used when Brad from Westside and I were working out sump dimensions.
Bard cut the sump bottom down so that it was the height of the headers, then he made the base plate and I test fitted on the motor and then when it
was all OK he welded this to the sump after 1st cutting windows to allow the oil to flow out to the edges of the sump, then he folded up the wings to
close it all in.
Steve
ps in this photo you can see that I moved the Subaru engine mounts
