I've dealt with a lot of bitsamissing cars over the years,
This wasn't a bad little car and was probably one of the better ones
http://forums.aussieveedubbers.com/viewtopic.php?tid=67377
But it was a very unexciting drive, my Laser is much more pleasant and fun to drive.
But I would not touch anymore bitsamissing with a barge poles, they seem to have some real quality control issues.
New ones seem to have so many problems, have a look at the recall list on the website, nearly every model has a fault.
Mates 09 TD triton dual cab is well over $10k in warranty repairs already and all the fleet cars I had over the years gave problems.

that^ or honda accord like million mile Joe!
what is civic like? they do 50 mpg apparently?
I am not looking at a fun car. Just has to be small so I can actually park in in melbourne. economical for those 300 km days and for traffic jams.
Hate to admit it but I need an auto as those slow traffic days have nearly destroyed my commy clutch within 20,000km of installing a new one.
It does not go any slower than about 15km/h at idle in 1st. So leap frogging it was the only way to move through traffic
without people stealing the gap in front of you that you normally use to get the car going properly.
And probably most important is reliability. I take the lancer with a grain of salt as I know how bad all other bitsaremissings are.
I remember when I was doing a work placement through school at the local auto elect we used to see a few magnas come through every month that didn't
run. 100% of the times was ECUs that caught fire internally
My friend Darcy and his bro got one for their Ps as a first car. Within a year or two they got sick of it breaking down all the time and when it died
again they sent it to the wreckers and they only were willing to give 50 buck or something along those lines coz it was so shit

I was actually surprised at the amount of bare plastic in the interior of said friends car.
And the area's that weren't plastic had a really 'hard' feel to them.
I thinks its a base model, 2 door CE(?) Lancer.
Is a good car though, he gets phenominal fuel economy and mod/aftermarket scene for those things is MASSIVE.

I have driven one of those getz before. pretty expensive for just a get around car. The max I would spend is about 3-4k for a work car.
anyway I was getting to the point of the getz. Slow as absolute f**k
and dangerously poor handling even worse than a 85 laser.
and the gearbox goes crunch at my normal rate that I shift So
you have to granny shift them. It had 1037km on the clock so this was factory normals?
though you are right about the good economy they have.
No I wouldn't buy a hyundai, too many problems. I remember my mate Heath and his shit box accent. He paid a very good rate of 6k for a 2001 accent in
mint condition and at the same time I got my 92 VP from my uncle. I lol'd at the problems he had, sure I had them too but not as serious as his with
an engine failure
and electrical problems coz the dumb asses at hyundai forgot to remove the paint before bolting on the ground cables to the various chassis and body
points. Can't have a good electrical connection through paint!
He still has it and still goes but its looking worse for wear, much more than mine and its starting to rust! lol rust! not cancer just surface here
and there but still its rust. I don't have any on mine and my paint is completely rooted. One thing holden did good with those cars is make em rust
proof.

never could find a practical use for them, same with wagons. I just never carry enough or big enough stuff.
Don't have a use for them yet, may in the future though. I will keep that in mind though.

if you wanna be captain conservative / practical, nuffin beats a corolla hatch.
Gf's got one (92 model hatch), nothing amazing apart from the fact that it just keeps on trucking, its simple, and spares are plentiful at the
wrecking yard.

yes but the one I drove was manual.
I have test driven heaps of cars so far. New cars just don't have what I want.
So far I have driven this year for new and newish
Getz 2011
Focus 2011
VE SV6 2011
VY SV6 2003
XR6 2009
Jetta 2008
BA ute 2006?
Accent 2001
A 2011 Toyota (can't remeber which model?)
Some older cars over time
EB
EA
XH
EL fairmont with tickford 4L
VP
VN
All late type 3s
Toyota corolla 2002? I did my Ls lessons in that car.
Some odd ball cars in the past
Lada samara
Esscort 2L
VB
VK
Mitsubishi 80's van
Some sort of vw buggy I built
Cortina
RX7 heap of shit!
Some old ford wagon with "falcon 500" written on the back
Torana
Heap of other cars and road trains and trucks in my auto electric days.
Passenger of heaps of other makes too.
Few others I can't remember.
I have to say older like pre 95 are generally much nicer cars to drive. But thats just me.
Out of the newest cars that I have driven I recon the VY was best and the jetta was good too.
But the rest was poo especially the focus, just terrible used a lot of fuel too

I am thinking 90s honda civic.
I hear and read they are quite reliable. engines are cheap enough for them too.
