empi vs weber

I will eventually be chasing a single 40idf style kit with the weber selling for $550 and the empi 40 hpmx kit going for $370. Is it really worth the extra for the weber? And does anyone know roughly how much they charge to send to oz?

Hi
We are talking about EMPI [made in China or Taiwan] parts..

[Not the original EMPI ....
and Not the owner of the EMPI trademark which is Wolfsburg Motors.. in Victoria..]

Its not worth taking the chance...
some EMPI parts just don't fit... [read many]
and some carbies need to be pulled apart and cleaned out..

If You want something to Work like the original .. You need to buy the original.. in this case... WEBER...

You will kick Yourself if You need to buy a Part twice,,..

cheers

I would just prefer the simplicity of a single carb and as long as the new manifold has heat risers I cant see the need for twins. My offroad experience shows a smaller single pulls up steep hills better from low revs than bigger twins, might be the longer manifold runners giving better torque from idle.I'm not after high rev performance just some more poke than a rejetted 34 pict, but in the middle of nowhere I'd rather have only one carb to worry about.

You can't go wrong with genuine webers.

I have heard rumours that the new HPMX 2.0 carbs are a lot better but I haven't tried them yet.

i'm running a stromberg. Excellent torque and is the first carb i have eva had idle right for me (not to say Solex is bad, but mine were heavily worn).

Good daily driver setup, very drivable.
