MELB - Free to good home - 1600 engine and lots of parts

Richmond, Vic, 3121

Ok, this is the engine that I took out of my 1600 super about a year ago. I took it out because is had blow a spark plug on 3. I replaced the engine and this one has sat in the garage ever since. It needs a top end overhaul, however there is no bottom end play. It drove well in my car for about 10 years, absolutley no problems.

It's an AD engine (1600 TP), its oily, greasy, dirty but all the parts are there.

It is a complete engine, including a kombi extractor exhaust minus the muffler. Comes with 2 massive boxes of parts. From the top of my head the boxes contain:

TP inlet manifolds, boots, carby etc
4+ 4 stud beetle chrome hub caps
Set of single port heads
A 1600 kombi engine support mount
Heat exchangers
Lots of random bits of beetle tin
The list goes on.....
All must be taken together - I'm moving house.

So it's all free to a good home, however, it has to be picked up today or tomorrow (Saturday the 28th of Jan) or else it's going to the tip.

:(:(:rolleyes::(:(

Why did I not get out from under the car and check the site yesterday afternoon!!!! Too slow! I was trying to decide how best to approach a rebuild and a second engine would allow me to remain mobile during what will no doubt become a drawn out process.

Anyone else in the neighborhood got a similar treasure chest to give away?
