New to bugs, filter and discs?

G'Day, partner just became 2nd owner of a 68 1300. Looking through the reciepts, every year it had a brake job and although it was regularly serviced it still got blocked pushrods, stuck valve gear and such.

Questions
What front discs (pref off std model not aftermarket) will go on?

and how do I get a Z9 or similar spin on filter on their.

She's a bit ratty, but bone stock, want to do as little vandalism as neccessary.
Cheers.

If it's 1300 and has drums on the front its older than 68
will be a 66 or 67 and sadly there is no OEM disc setup for that model, they started in 68 with the newer Ball joint front end but there are some decent aftermarket kits out there, others will chime in on what works and what doesn't

The 68-71 1500 model bugs had disc front end you can swap that straight over. Also the 1976 bugs had disc front

Ta guys, just climbed under it, she's ball joints, so I guess I grab the stub axle complete w brake hoses from a 68-71 1500 yeah? Car was bought new in Germany in 68 and driven here via everywhere by orig owner

Mate's offered me a wrecked 1970 w discs and a 1500, just grab the discs or is the 1500 a worthwhile conv?
It's for the girl, just want reliability and to be able to do safe freeway speeds.

Also, Maxi Pump 2, be allright for a stocker w stock pulley?

If you're keeping it all stock then I wouldn't worry too much about an oil filter, just change the oil every 5000km.

If it's an import Euro spec 68 1300 that changes everything, they are bit different to the 68 aussie 1500s sold here.

As Waveman says oil filter is overkill unless you're a lazy oil changer, millions of these things have lasted decades with out them.
