lee i think you should go with two blue nuts a red shaft and paint the inside of the fan hole pink.
would look great.

yeah it can feel a bit dry when screwing in if you don't lube the shaft first, also good idea to get your fingers inside and lube up the hole before
you insert the shaft.

also lee i find if the hole is flogged out turn it around and put the shaft in from the rear
but make sure you use the lube or you will flog out the rear also.

Very good information, finger the hole with lube as well.. It should penetrate easily then, an wont be tight or hard to screw.

I wax my nuts, i find it a cleaner surface... lube is good as well, but not on your nuts, although when waxed they are very smooth...
