The VW fraternity

I must say how impressed I was this morning on the way from the sunny coast to Dubs by the Pub when my sons baja broke down (due to him wiring his coil completely backwards!). The number of dubbers who stopped and asked if we needed any help was very heartening. Special thanks must go to h, Colin and his mate Glen who not only stayed and helped but Glen -who didn't know us from a bar of soap, rang his wife and got her to get a spare distributor, coil and points and bring them to us with which we got Micks car going again. I would be even more impressed if only my son had posted this rather than me. Now to get him to fix the problems and get these parts back to Glen and get him a few beers

We made it there and back fine but how do you get a 20 year old to understand how to nurse a car when the timing had just been done by ear and it looked like he was losing a bit of oil. Seriously he was hitting 120 kph on the way home and my jaw now aches through grinding my teeth I was terrified!!!! He won't listen to me and I've destroyed enough dub engines to know when to knock the crap out of them and when not to:td:

You can only tell them..... lol

My Son had many problems a few years ago going to Valla/Nambucca heads and going home...
and VW people really went out of their way to get Him going.
They also stopped every time He did...
in the pouring rain too...

Good crowd of people out there...

cheers
