Strange body pressing on 69 Semi Auto
I have been taking a closer look at my new 69 and it has some strange pressings on the rear quarter panel. Ive checked my other ones and they dont
have the bumps. Any ideas?

69 was before Charcoal canisters started anywhere but they were obviously changine the body moulds in preperation for them starting overseas (1500
semi autos were fully imported from the motherland).
You'll find the pressings on most 70s bugs

So it wasn't a strange body pressing on a 69 semi auto
it was just the marks they had left... lol

OK so general consensus is that it is a late german 69 with mounts for charcoal canister. With chassis number of 199 986 xxx that would make sense.
Thanks for the laugh guys, "strange body pressing on 69" heck, ill take any port in a storm ATM.
C'mon lee, I atleast expected some colourfull pictures from ya mate!!!

Well
as it happens I have the RHS rear wheel off at the moment
and checked My car and it doesn't have those strange body pressings... so looked like they started in 1969..
everything under My guards are painted with black stoneguard so it doesn't look nice at all... lol
but here is a shiny bit... lol
and two silver bits...lol
LEE
sorry no strange body pressings found... lol
