FS Qld : The " Rat Racer"

Seller : Andrew
Contact : Pm or phone 0411556744
Location : Alexandra Hills Qld
Price : $ 4500

Well after plenty of fun i have decided that it is time to move the Rat Racer on as i need the money to continue on the Towd .

As can be seen in the members rides section the car is built as a rat ride and as such if the car is to stay in Qld i will discuss with a buyer in relation to a RWC as being a rat it won't be easy .

As part of the build in 2010 ( 5500 miles ago ) it had the following items done and are basicully still in good condition , complete brake system replaced including a dual master cylinder , all new rubber hoses , all new drums , and all new slave cylinders
New Nankang 135 front tyres
All steering checked and tie rod ends replaced where needed and it has a nice tight set of king and link pins .
The lowered front end is all in the beam with just a set of adjusters pretty close to there lowest setting although it does still have some travel .
The 1600 TP runs well and at the last dyno day made 40 odd horsepower which should be better still now with new Jax reco stock heads and a new set of rings approx 1500 miles ago . With oil leaks being one of my pet hates it has a couple of slight weaps but nothing major as most seals have been replaced including the gearbox swingaxle boots .
The electrics are basicully stock and work well with a 12volt genny powering things .
The single Dellorto 36 DRLA carby runs well now after a lot of tunning and exhaust is through a set of early empi merged extractors with a hot dog muffler which is not to noisy .
The gearbox is a little noisy but i believe most of this is due to the two straps on the box for the racing and the berg style tramp bar but apart from that it shifts nice .
Clutch is a kennedy stage one 200mm
As for the body and pan , it is a rat and as such yes it does have some rust in doors and deck lid but the body is structually sound and the heater channells are good .
Any major rust was repaired by myself in 2010 including a new lower A pillar on the drivers side and several other patches in the rear quaters all of which are fully butt welded in panels that are neat .
The pan has the original pan halves in it and the passengers side is a little thin in places from surface rust but no holes .
The interior is like any rat should be and is torn and no carpet etc and is equipped with a scat drag fast shifter , and a 5" taco .

Any other question please post here or ring me on the above number preferbly after 5 pm but before 9pm .

Andrew

PS I am currently working away in Mackay at present so am not home much but i will be home this weekend 17th & 18th March so if your interested and want an inspection , feel free to contact me , but please don't waste my time if your a tyre kicker
