recovery for Allan had been a bit slow for the first few days with him feeling very ill , unable to eat and unable to get out of bed . Fortunately he
was not in any pain which confirms the large quantity of drugs that have been pumped into him to make him feel comfortable , but at the same time make
him feel ill .
Yesterday (friday) mum got dad out of bed , showered him and got him to take a small walk to the ward loungeroom where he sat in the sun for about
15mins , before returning to bed . He also had 2 small pieces of meat for dinner .
Today (saturday) Allan had a small amount of porridge for breakfast , got up out of bed and had a walk around his room a couple of times , had a
shower and had 2 small sandwiches for lunch . He is feeling much better today and is on the road to a full recovery ...

Good to hear Wayne. Now to get him up and walking around and excercising to get the blood flowing. My old
Man was out of bed 4 times a day for the first few days and they walked him around the ward at a slow pace.

went to visit Allan yesterday afternoon at St George Private , to find him sitting up in bed chatting to a couple of his vintage motorcycle club mates
. He looked really well and smiled and joked for the first time since surgery .
After his mates left I went for a walk with him around the ward and he felt really good in himself . His left leg had been cut from ankle to above the
knee to remove veins for his heart surgery , and is much more painful than his chest .
Today Louise and I went and picked Allan up from hospital and took him home , where he is resting comfortably . He is feeling better each day but will
need plenty of rest before heading off to physio next week for the first time . Mum felt glad to be home after staying in Sydney for 2 weeks at a
motel and travelling to and from the hospital each day to be at Allans side .

My old man fractured his back in 11 places around the same time Allan had his heart attack. He insisted on going fishing the following weekend, can't
keep these old buggers down.

All the best mate. My old man went through the same late last year. Not the best when ya get a phone call from the other side of the world at stupid
o'clock in the morn. You know something is wrong but you have to go by what you get told down the phone.
Can't keep him still these days.
