If you are strapped why not go to Bunnings and get some marine/outdoor carpet, cut to shape & fit. Most of the pieces are flat & it doesn't
take much effort to make a template from a bit of cardboard. When you look at the commercial ones some of them are horrible (i.e the set that I
purchased in good faith for my Ghia) I could have done a lot better mysel ffor a lot less money & they would have fitted,if you want the edges
taped just take the sections to a trimmer & get him to sew a tape on them.

I'm in Adelaide and not much around, i went to buntings and priced carpet it's cheaper but i really can't be bothered getting all frustrated with
cutting to the correct size. I got a pricing and they said it would probably be around 250 but they only do 1964-75 and i don't know if the carpet is
the same as a later model.

I don't know how they can do 64 - 75....? As far as Im aware the location of the shifter was moved back in the later models... What is your budget?
Classic veedub in Sydney sell a kit for 250 bucks, i don't like it, the carpet is shit but its cheap. Queensland moulded car carpets up here make
them for closer to 300 i think. Better quality carpet but the fit is not as good as it could be. I make a good fitting kit, similar to a tmi kit but
cheaper. Problem is i haven't patterned up a 62 bug yet, so far i have 68 - 70 standard And l/super bug. It might be a couple of months until i have
the time to pattern one up. How soon do you want one?

i'm thinking i might just go to bunnings and try and do it myself. I'm looking at spending around 250 or less if possible. My whole car is getting
re wired cos of the idiots that did a home job on it before i bought it

Here is a pic of one of my kits, as you could imagine the rear luggage area is also included.

Hi 1916
I am new to this forum and just bought a sweet 69 bug that I am looking to fix up a bit. I am also interested in your carpet kits but obviously for a
69.
Feel free to PM me if you can help me out, I too have been looking for a cheaper carpet that isn't completely crap.

No worries, sounds good. I'll post a few more replies and have a go at the PM. I am in Sydney anyway and in no real hurry. The car is beige with red
seats so I am thinking either cream or grey. I like the look of the kit in the photos you've posted, sounds like you've found quite a market for
them!
Cheers, Ben

Quote: | I have recently
fitted one of these kits to a light blue bug with a red seats and off white headliner i did and it looked great in black.... i was going to use grey
and changed my mind last minute and to be honest i'm glad i did, it came up a treat in black. Your choice though, thats what it's all about.... and
your right there does seem to be a bit of a market for them.
