Disconnected from reality
Bah!!! the screen in my smartphone died and we have also been without internet at home for like a week?? i feel soo out of touch with the world.
anyone else had a similar experience and felt just as isolated as i have??... no point in catching up on the past though. it's best to look to the
future
what did we all do before we had smart phones and high speed internet?? i was born in the 80's so i do remember.... but that all feels like ancient
history haha!

Maybe a nuisance?
nu·ance (näns, ny-, n-äns, ny-)
n.
1. A subtle or slight degree of difference, as in meaning, feeling, or tone; a gradation.
2. Expression or appreciation of subtle shades of meaning, feeling, or tone: a rich artistic performance, full of nuance.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[French, from Old French, from nuer, to shade, cloud, from nue, cloud, from Vulgar Latin *nba, from Latin nbs.]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nuanced adj.
Synonyms: nuance, gradation, shade
These nouns denote a slight variation or differentiation between nearly identical entities: sensitive to delicate nuances of style; gradations of
feeling from infatuation to deep affection; subtle shades of meaning.

I've been through most phases of mobile phone use. I missed the first couple of phases but when they became cheap and pocket sized... I got a
Motorola. Dont know what model, it is like the microtac but without the "flip". In early 90's it was about $600 outright I think (no such thing as
a plan and included calls) was about 3cm thick, probably a bit taller than a packet of smokes. You could just about put it in your pocket. If you got
a call (rare because people couldnt afford to call you) you had to pull the antenna out. If you talked for more than a few minutes the battery would
go flat and take about 7 hours to recharge. You bought 2 batteries so one was always on charge. If you go 2 phone calls in one day you still had no
phone. I redirected mine to the nearest landline to get me through the day. It was very functional. Incoming and outgoing calls. Thats it. Not even a
clock. I dropped it drunken running across the street on my bucks night and it got run over.
I eventually got a nokia 3110 like 90% of the population. SMS, an alarm clock, snake game AND phone calls. Everything you could possibly want and it
easily fits in your pocket.
Now I even do work on my mobile. Emergency web updates from anywhere in minutes.

Now that brings back memories, I had a work phone like that in my first job, The battery alone was bigger than my current phone.
My old man had one of gigantic bag phones in the late 80s/early 90s
Compact enough to fit in your own car and so heavy you got a work out just lifting the thing

I have a 3110c its the modernish version of the 3110.
It has basic stuff like calender, calculator, alarm clock and some junk like that.
cost me 15 buks of ebay and I have had it for 2 or 3 years.
The battery lasts 3-4 days.
It works! though its clumsy to use coz the buttons are to small that I have to use the tip of my nails to press them. I have broken the screen on it
once and replaced the full shell about 4 or 5 times as I wear it out by having it in my pocket.
I have an old 6100 laying around somewhere. That is a great phone as the battery lasts nearly 2 weeks.
but the end of the day I don't really make calls much and people always seem to call at the wrong time, so its more of a burden than useful.
Its funny though, I grew up being all gadget loving, electronics guru and loved building computers and work as a tech building "cnc" machines
servicing them and stuff. But I have been repelled by all the mainstream electronic goods.
Don't have TV, don't like phones, no hi fi at home or sound systems in my cars and all the useless electronic junk you seen in homes and cars there
days.
I don't know? I just can't seen the point of this stuff or the hyp about it?

Caddy's going just fine but it lacks the uniqueness of the wench so I still prefer to be cruising in her, just a bit impractical to cart the dogs or
tools in.

IE is short for internet explorer.
the spell check isn't automatic not sure about chrome? I use firefox and it underlines the words red so you know its a mistake. then you right click
on it and it gives you the suggestions just like Open office or MS word.
See the example.
