freight clearance in Brisbane help needed

I have a pair of seats arriving this weekend from America and they need to be cleared through customs.

Do I need a freight clearance provider to do that and, if I do, can anyone recommend someone to me that can arrange it?

Thanks

Not that i am aware of, i bring in a lot of gear and if duty is payable it is usally handled by the freight company or the post office, if not i have had customs contact me with the duty payable.

Thanks for that. Other than importing a car, everything else has just been arriving at the post office but these were sent via sea freight and are arriving at some sort of brokers business and they have asked if I have a freight forwarder to process them.

Careful, the standard handling fees may add up quickly. Ask them what their fees are.

Hi Yogie,

I brought in some seats both from the US and UK ...both times I had to get a customs clearance .... you can do it yourself or get a broker .....I have found getting a broker faster!

Thanks Greg. What did the broker cost you and did you have any other fees added on?

A number of companies can do customs brokerage - we've used Mainfreight before, they are always quite helpful providing you have the commercial invoice etc etc.

Thanks Al. How are you going with the Mendeola double wishbone front ends?

I have a nice set of leather 911 seats with full electric adjustments coming in for our S bug cabrio and they should be here next week.

Another addition for what will eventually become a German look cabrio.
