North side Brisbane sprayer wanted
Hey guys, Any idea how much I'd be looking at for a basic spray for a 65 bug? I'm not looking for show quality - rather just to tidy her up. Ta.

If there is no rust or repairs, and you take it apart and reassemble (R+R), and it is the same colour. $2000will get you a respray with no
guarantee.
The factors that increase costs are R+R, repairs, colour change and bare metal start.

Thanks Pete. You don't have any suggestions for possible sprayers, do you?

We get seasons, but it means everybody wears boring black clothes for 6 months of the year. So conservative. Most people think brown and blue are
exciting colours to wear for summer.
I get mocked for wearing Hawaiian shirts or Guayabita shirts in summer.

I'm in the same area and needed a respray for my bonnet. If you did manage to get a name of a nicely priced place around the northside I'd love to
know the name.

Hello, I too am in search of a recommendation for a paint professional on the Northside of Brissie to bring my car back to life.
I've prepped and almost finished the body and will be looking for a paint only service (I will reassemble).
Nick from Outrage mentioned Benny's Body Shop in Lawnton - anyone used him?

If you send me a PM I can sure as hell tell you who NOT to use on the North Side... unless you want paint runs, orange peel, parts with no paint
coverage, overspray both outside and INside your car, parts of your car broken or ruined (that the pannel beater blames the painter for and the
painter blames the pannel beater for but you're still out of pocket either way because they sure aren't going to fix it), paint that is the wrong
color, rust repairs that weren't treated and three months later are bubbling up under the paint, and a nice helping of abuse that the price they
quoted wasn't enough (even though it wasn't your fault that you had to take it back several times because they did a terrible job),and al most
getting punched in the face for daring to ask for the job to be done properly. Which then leaves you stuck with a terrible paint job because you dare
not go back to see them again for fear of having your body dumped in the woods. Oh and you would also get accused of bad mouthing the business, even
though you hadn't done any such thing (but you do now.Because hell... If you get blamed for it, you might as well do it).
So if anyone needs to know where to stay away from - let me know and I'll send you the details and show you pictures/provide you with more info.

If what you say is legitimate and you are not embelishing at all then just say openly who it is. The only time that is an issue is if you are taking
it up and not telling the whole truth.
At the end of the day these open forums are a place for people to share experiences both good and bad.
They are not a place for pointless bitchin and slagging people off for little or no reason though.
It is no different to shows like A Current Affair chasing dodgy workmen down the street to warn those that are not aware of their practices and clean
up industries.
I am a builder so I love when shit heads are called on the crap work and dodgy dealings. Makes us all look bad when they get away with it.
On that Note - I will recommend someone who was good with my trucks.

I have been looking to, not for right now but in 12 months time.
Noth northside, but to get somethng decent I would be willing to travel to the southside.
Impact body works in moorooka seem to be getting a good name. Just did a mates MX5 which came out really nice and also I have seen a few kombi's
inside before when I drove past. No personal experince as such though.
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
