[FS - VIC] Beetle convertible (not orig)
Sighted today at Rich River Motor wreckers Echuca. A 1971 VW beetle that's roof was cut off in 1990. Owner said it is a good "T" top conversion
done in Sydney. No engineers papers. Wants $2500. Original wheels come with it also. has 1600cc engine that appears original. Top isnt so good.
Phone Greg on 0354802 777
3/5 Murray Valley Hwy Echuca
good luck!

My god that it the most hideous roof job ever, not even an attempt to keep the original roof shape. Gag!

Yes, my thoughts exactly. However that was the era also that saw short wheel based early landcruisers with a similar "coupe" type soft top. bloody
impractible and odd but some must have liked it.
Personally I think to see a beetle like this saddens me for soem reason.

I agree they could have gone to Bias Boating or Whitworths and got a bimini frame kit.

If you look close in the picture of the side window you can see the frame that holds the back of the roof up has fallen forwards, thats why it looks
funny.

Some more private eye stuff, in the first pic is that a square clear panel in the middle of the roof? If so a sun roof in a
soft top roof!
