vents on panels
just wondering if anyone can explain why VW put inward-facing vents in their panelvans. mine had been hidden by an aluminium one, and i had
considered keeping the original, that is until i realised INWARD VENTS LET RAIN IN!! Why on earth would a company as clever as vw provide their vans
with rain holes? please explain!

Not that I have looked too closely at them, but I believe even though the vents went in, the opening was to the top, and there was a tray inside too
catch any moisture getting in.
Can anyone confirm??
Does yours have this?
The earlier panels never had any opening.

the opening is at the bottom of each one, there is a miniscule ledge, and when i removed the aluminium covering vent, i left the original there for a
week to see if it would leak. i now have water stains on one shelf of my cupboards.

Hmmm.... Sounds like you may be missing some panel work.
Maybe some one else with a panel can post some picks for you?
KoolKarmaKombi has a panel, try sending him a U2U.
