1300 twin port to 1600 twin port

Hi All,

I have a twin port 1300, can i simply swap out the 1300 P&B for 1600 P& B and use the same 1300 TP heads?

Cheers
Paul

Piston and cylinders slip straight in but the heads will need machined out to fit the bigger cylinders. (just like you would do to a 1600 head if you were fitting 90.5 - 94 mm cylinders) Also, some of the early 1300's had the smaller 1200 valves but the later 1300's had the 1600 valves. If I remember correctly, they used a dome top piston to increase the Comp ratio when they used 1600 valves/heads.
Cheers Dave

Hi

1300s twins also had smaller inlet manifolds, might pay to get a full 1600 T and cast ends.

The 1300 twin port is a great basis for a motor, they are usually very under stressed.
