argon gas own your own bottle

Anyone bought there own argon gas bottle instead of renting
ive heard it works out to about 310 a 20kg bottle with gas in it and 89 a refill or exchange
these seems the way to go as you would probably get about 10 hours of welding
way better than the small disposables or renting
for the occasional welder any thoughts anyone

I contacted speed gas direct and it appears that where ever you go it is the same price
Send them an email of what you are after and where you are at they will get back to you withstockist closes to you at what stock they have

Would you need to get it pressure tested every year to get it filled up?
If so this may factor into the buy costs instead of rental.
I rent two from BOC and it works out pretty cost effective. (Cant remember the costs now as I get a bill anually)

i know this is completely different. but i own my co2 gas bottle for my keg fridge. it cost me 350 for the 9kg version and is only 35 bucks for a swap and go replacement. they take care of all the testing and crap.
im sure some one is doing this with argon bottles.
