Anyone doing Leyburn this year..
Am heading out to Leyburn this year with Herb - many will identify with this story but since the arrival of the bubs the car has not hit the track in
a couple of years. But I bought it back home and gave it some new sway bar bushes and bled the brakes - am going to drain the fuel and give it a tidy
up and she should be right to go.
I have the next 7 weeks off so I shouldnt have too many excuses for not being prepared.
Anyone else competing ? It is on the 18-19 August.

Prep work..
Cool - I was toying with a bigger engine being installed by then but the Manx came along and put a dent in the toy account - regardless am looking
forward to it. My 3"harness is now out of date as well, so will have to fit up a new one I suppose, oh and the wiper blades - damn this list is
starting to grow already..

Heh, yeah - sounds like you've got some fun ahead of ya !!!
With your harness being out of date... you know they extended the life of FIA spec stuff out to 10 years rather than 5, yeah ???
Wiper blades... hmmm... fixing them is likely gonna make it a rainy event, so don't do it !!!

Competitor list:
Yep looks like just the three dubs at Leyburn this year - Sides, the VWDCC Fastback and my Herb.
Entry list below:
http://www.leyburnmotorsprints.com.au/downloads.html
I had a look through the list and although I havent done it in a few years there were a lot of names missing whom I thought would be there from the
historic racing side - probably at lakeside.
Anyway car is ready to go - just a few more tinkerings oh and those damn wiper blades..

Sunday
Look forward to seeing you Marcus - I spoke too soon with that other post - I never got around to the wiper blades - but forecast is looking good
anyway. Still haven taken it for a blat to see if everything works, so there could be a bit of tinkering tomorrow.

It was a great day out there yesterday.
The event is getting better and better. Some impressive cars and drivers running there.
Well done to Dave, Dave and Pete. Good to see you again too Mick. Friendly atmosphere amongst spectators and competitors.
A shout out to Dave Sidery who is driving his beetle very well and it is sounding sweet.
I will be there in mine next year.

Yup - Leyburn was awesome as usual... great to see Dave O run his first event, as well as catching up with Pete, Marcus and others.
Had a few issues with the V belt on Sat, but a night time run to pick up a new nut, cap and spacer shims from Guru plus amazing country style service
from Repco Toowoomba leaving a belt out after hours for me to pick up on the honor system... then fitting it all up under Amarok headlights had things
workin flawlessly again Sunday.
Best run was final one Sunday of 58.48, which landed me 6th in a class of 10. Pretty happy really considering some of the guys and cars I was up
against !!!
Already looked at logs and know where can pick up a bit of time... bring on Leyburn 2013 !!!
