Hi guys,
starting a ratty project, with al the usual features..
roofracks,
sunvisor,
whitewalls,
Thinking vw lime green rims, Bamboo roof liner?

Hopefully can sort out my engine issues and then get it ready for a blueslip.

Update..
progress has been slow but what can ya do..

motor rebuilt
tank sealed
new fuel lines
new brake lines + cylinders + master
new glass rubbers
nearly done full re-wire (12v)
new tyres (135s on the front) atlas whitewalls
new scat interior kit + carpet + headliner

photos up in a sec hopefully

went with the flat silver rather than the green wheels.
planning on repainting the shroud asap too. its horrible!

just incase you're wondering..... its a 61, if I new how to change the subject text I would!
over the next few weeks I should have it slammed, wiring should be fully completed with some spotties and little stereo,
then work out if it'll get out my driveway. yew!

You can go up to 4.5inches and keep the shocks, however the body or the top of the shock towers on the beam might need a little massage to fit in.

yeah spot on Kuchster. little massaging required LOL.....
I'm full novice when it comes to automotive.. so when I went to put the beam back in, I freaked!
Then the beam builder told me to 'convince' the body that it will fit. So happy days.

still working on wiring, steering and getting the back down, so close! :cool:

61' rat - interior update


Scat seats and cartpet from vollks.com.au. all in place now.

custom glovebox with the head unit, usb and cig lighter inside.

couple of gauges with foglight switches in the centre panel.

thats a great Idea :) just bought a very similar lighter socket setup for mine. also destined for the glovebox. Scat interior looks nice, and the demin pockets are an interesting idea

You might want to relocate your fuel filter though, as above the dizzy (or anywhere in the engine bay) is a potential fire hazard.
