I bought a set of 44MM webers from DRD racing in the states, he set them up for your aplication, jetted and choked, float levels checked and set. i put them on my car and they idled perfectly, i put the car on the dyno and they were nearly spot on. email them for a price for the shipping, if you have to jet and choke them yourself it is a expensive exercise.

Hi maxpwr, off topic a bit but I've been in st.george for a month and haven't seen any VW's out here except 1 kombi passing through do you live out here?
BTW; aircooled.net have a good carb selection and set up service. With the strong aussie dollar they look good but I wouldn't know how much to send them here.

Maxpwr,
What setup did they end up recommending for you? Also, can you let us in on the shipping costs?

Cheers,
JRW

Hi. They recommended the 44idfs and shipping was 125. I was thinking 40s for better fuel emconomy but he insisted on 44s. I don't know much about carbs or anything mechanical so Hopefully will be all good.

Thanks Max!

Seems pretty reasonable as long as they show up and are all jetted right and ready to go. I'm thinking my build will use the same cam, so your setup sounds like a goer....

As i said he set a pair up for me and they ran and idled straight out of the box, i would still pay to put them on the dyno as every engine is different in some way.
