Air Compressor (sp?)

Hi guys,

I'm considering buying an air compressor primarily for some paint work I will hopefully use it to spray my kombi.

As it will recieve little use after that I dont want to spend a fortune.

I saw one today on special at Kmart for $150 with a 15m hose and tyre pressure guage thingy it is 2hp with a 24 litre tank - will it be able to do the job ?

The other one I have looked at is supercheap at $199 for 2.5hp and 40 litre will it be a big differance?

Try and find one of the custom VW heads Queensland rail used to have. Then you can turn your spare beetle motor into a compressor.
2 Cylinders for the compressor and 2 to run it.

This was briefly covered recently see

http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=9512

from what i discovered stay away from the cheap ones as you'll run out of air after a couple of passes and then have to wait for yonks to go again.

if you are only useing it to spray the kombi go hire a decent unit for a week, will work out much cheaper

i brought an arlec compressor from kmart awhile ago. Its pretty good, i brought the spray gun from kmart aswell. They do a pretty good job, just have to use low pressure.

Steve, I've got an eager beaver that you can borrow, if you haven't already bought a compressor. It should cope with what you have in mind. ;)
