1.8 is coming - things you miss / want

Hi there,

XMB 1.8 is coming soon, and I have a personal wish list of things I'd like to see fixed. To make the transition to 1.8 as pleasant as possible, I want your input on what you'd like to see. ie,

* what's missing from ezboard that'd you like back
* what would make your life easier
* what have you seen elsewhere that'd be a nice addition

This allows me to draw up a feature list to test when we're doing the go/no-go list for the migration change control. Lastly, if the features aren't critical but would nice to have, we can try to prioritize them for hacking on later.

Mine's only a 1300cc (1.3) Andrew but If I had the funds I wouldn't mind a 1600 kit.

1.8? So do you have a type 2?

What would I liked changed. Can you ask 'admin' to not call itself admin anymore and ask the person formally called admin to choose a face. I like to know who's pulling the strings.

Thanks,

The Bronze.

Oh and as for Admin - that is the default login I used before I had the login sorted. I have used a few times since when posting rules and the likes so as not to give any opinion to the position. So it and Buggy Boyz are one and the same.

hhehehehehe. I have a 1.8t in my Turbo Beetle, does that count? I must admit I should be saying XMB 1.8 is coming. We're on the real buggy 1.6 right now, and hopefully 1.8 will save the world and wash the dishes.

Cool, I'm into saving the world. One kid at a time.

I get it. You were talking geekspeak and not tweakspeak. I think 1.8t qualifies in the dubber realm of things. I'd still like to move on up to 1600 though.

Thanks for clearing the 'Admin' thing up Brad. I hate the whole faceless Big Brother thing and don't feel comfortable not knowing who's waving the stick.
This is a community right!

Cheers,
The Bronze.

things we miss/want

I'd like to be able to add/edit/delete pictures from within the 'Edit' Function.

'Previous/Next Post' would be useful.

The ability to add more than one pic per post without having to resort to an outside hosting site?

A smiley for 'lol'?

Well now that you mention it, I would like ALL the new posts to be indicated, and then marked as read when I've looked at them, without actually pressing anything. :)

You can get a similar sort of view by going to "Today's posts". Not quite what you wanted, but there you go.

Hopefully, 1.8 will fix the cookie time handling that will enable the view that you're after. The code for it is in 1.6, but it's broken.

That's how XMB is supposed to work... but doesn't.
