because the weight of the car determines it's value for money!!! The lotus crew must be spewing!

Why do you think so many people buy SUVs now for city driving? More metal per dollar!
|
Because it gives them better vision over the top of other vehicles and because they are usually a wagon as well.
I have never heard of anyone buying a car because of the the dollar to weight ratio

Most bogans buy a car on that philosophy, bigger is better. Well last time I checked, the dark ages had ended and you dont need a large car to drive
on heavily speed regulated roads. 10 or 15 years ago you wouldn't take a 3 cylinder car (or even a small diesel for that matter) on an interstate
trip, but times are changing for the better where efficiency is king. You cannot drive an SS commodore faster (legally) from brissy to perth than an
up! so for a young girl without a family and someone who doesn't want to tow anything but wants a quality car that is sure to have great resale its
pretty hard to beat. Unfortunately my daughter seems to be a hoon like myself and wouldn't it be ironic being pulled over by the highway patrol in
the smallest engined car on the market doing 130kph on a 'quiet' backroad..............maybe the optional cruise control might be in order.

I wouldn't buy the SS on the basis of speeding across country in it. It's more the feeling of that big V8, the lovely rumble of the exhaust, and the
knowledge that I'd be experiencing the end of an era. The second great muscle car era is coming to a close, and I'm pretty sure that by the end of
this decade, the Aussie V8 cars will be gone, and the cheapest new V8 left on the market will be the BMW M5, if that hasn't gone to a turbo V6 by
2020.
Think about it, I'm a single man in my early 20s. Petrol prices are only going to go up in the future. Why not have my V8 now and enjoy it while the
cheap petrol lasts? I fully intend to do just that. I can always buy something efficient or fully electric powered in 20 years' time. Being a bogan
is fun, but it's going to get expensive very soon!

^ well said. Although I don't totally agree on the V8 part maybe coz I am not a fan of V8. I like my flat 4, flat 6 and V6 better
