[FS - QLD] 1959 Beetle - SOLD
For sale Nov-59 1200 Beetle located in Hawthorne, Brisbane. I have owned this car for the past 7 years and just don't have the time of space to fix
her. Is original colour, and in mostly original condition apart from being lowered with an adjustable front beam, that fact it does not have the
original engine but a 1200 of a similar year and has recently been converted to 12v. The body work is pretty straight for a 53 year old car that has
been daily driven for the past 7 years. No structural rust, heater channels, floor pan, a-pillars all good only real rust is in the front left fender
and the side of the bonnet (both pictured below). Correct snowflake rear lights, dashboard has not been hacked up for a stereo, semaphores are present
but not working (indicators have been fitted in headlights and on rear bumper). Master cylinder replaced recently and good tyres all round. Interior
is mostly original (so the roof lining is pretty rubbish) driver’s seat has been replaced at some point but the passenger and rear seat seem to be
the originals and are both in good condition. Engine runs well, starts instantly and has always been a good goer and has proved to be very reliable.
The gearbox is faulty and needs work; the car is being sold unregistered and has been off the road since the end of May, due to the gearbox issues.
Car drives in 1st and reverse. Still have original glove-box manual and service books. Any more questions or requests for certain pics just as . Putting up here before listing on e-bay.
SOLD

Does it come with a replacement gearbox or will it have to be sourced?
Is this the only mechanical aspect of the car that needs attention?

No does not come with a second gearbox, I am not sure if it will even need replacing or just working on. Everything else is good. |
