Kombi winder/ regulator mechanism

G'day all, My kombi drivers side window has stopped going up and down. I have purchased a second hand winder mechanism and have removed the broken one with the help of my trusty grinder. I now cant work out how the new one goes in. The gap between the inner door and the window guiding channel appears too small to push the new mechanism through, and when I do it starts to bend (not good). Do I need to remove the window. If so How I do this?. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am starting to get the shits :)

as above..... you need to take out the 10mm bolt also (i think) and then as you push the winder up in the gap pull the inner part (skin) of the door towards you to make the gap wider.
I get the shits all the time after I have vinda looh!!!!!
