I was all planned to keep car loaded on trailer from TnT but after putting a kit through the Holley I decided to add a winch and strengthen draw bar of trailer for the trek to Sydney.

Mines a top quality Supercheap winch. Will be used for tie down more than winching. Cant swing the handle.

well only 13 days to go and Team WPVW still have a lot of prep to do , but as usual we will be working on cars the night before the event to ensure that they perform well.

Deans 69' beetle has had a new turbo system fabricated for the 2733ml type-4 engine and nearing completion . We fired his bug on Thursday afternoon and it sounds great !! We are just waiting on the new methanol Holley to arrive from US , then we can dyno his bug . Cant wait to see Dean break into the 10's with his street bug .

The WPVW sports sedan is being driven this year by Andrew Makin from QLD . Tomorrow night the engine comes out of the blue car & heads off for inspection . It has been running really strong but I noticed in recent video footage that it is blowing some exhaust smoke at the start line and may have worn valve guides , better to check them now before something fails so that Andrew can have a great day behind the wheel .

Chris Boltons 67' turbo bug is getting another set of bigger heads , a new larger diameter turbo header , a larger intake manifold system and a little more boost . Cant wait to see Chris' bug go hard and break into the 9's .

My Turbo Oval wont be ready for this event unfortunately . The 24 new Racewear headstuds have arrived , the new RLR rev-6 dual clutch assembly has arrived , the new alloy lite-weight rear disc brake kit has arrived & another engine case has started work on but will not be ready in time for this event . So the oval will sit while I get the other cars ready to race .

Ben Ford will not be racing as he is attending a wedding for a mate of his as 'best man' . Ben did offer me his supercharged drag bug for the event but I have declined the offer , to assist other Team members with their cars .

Looking forward to another great event @ WSID :tu::tu::tu::tu:

Have been thinking about it for the last few weeks and made the decision to come on down for the day in the "Rat Racer" , if nothing else it'll be 3 days of laughs and fun , most of it with some ear plugs jambed in to try and cut down the noise of the strapped in driveline of the rat .
Have also as of yesterday score another brave sole for the run down and back , Paul from Steelart Creations AKA "Manxiberty " on most forums
Our plan is to leave Bris approx 2pm Fri Arvo and drive straight through with a few stops along the way to stretch our legs and recover from the drivers race seat .
See you all there .
Oh and no i'mm not racing the Rat as i need to be able to drive it home Sun , lame excuse i know but i know if i get it out on the track , i'mm gunna drive it hard and that might not end so well

Andrew

Thanks for the offer Mick , but my current gearbox would not stand up to any decent sort of a start , plus i am keen to do a bit of spectating for a change and just hang out as opposed to being busy with the car all day and not seeing much at all .
