it is doug, there is no rust at all, and pretty straight... just needs a good tune and a few suspension items for rwc.
I was actually very surprised how dry the car was for its age.

Thanks for the welcome Matberry,
Im looking forward to spending some time getting it just right from a mechanical point of view and then clocking up some km's.
What I'm really interested in is finding out more about this model configuration...
Does anyone else on the forum have a double sliding door bay?

Pretty solid looking bus. Any mechanical bits are easy to tune.

You have a very tidy bus there, can't wait to see what you have planned for it, anything interesting?

Hi Sebastien,
plans are at this point to get her roadworthy items done to be safe (shockers, bushes etc) then drive and enjoy her.
At this time apart from a good set of speakers and a new head unit she will stay just like she is.
Maybe in time she need to be lowered 3-4 inches so the rear wheel arch is just at the top of the rim... but thats it mate... just enjoy being out on
the road.
Regards,
Mike

Beautiful, that's what I like to hear!
I was hoping it was going to stay in an un-molested state and it is.
Good luck with the roadworthy, keep us updated.

well things have been moving forward slowly with the panel.
We went off to get the roadworthy stuff done only to find out that the cylinder head was damaged and needed to be replaced.
The finned section of head that the stud tightens down onto was cracked and it made it impossible to torque down ... this explained her rough
running.
We also found some rust..... LOL one hole about the size of a 5 cent piece... i was shocked that we couldn't find more.
A new head, tie rods, a windscreen, master cylinder, a full set of brakes and some tlc and a good tune from the mechanic and everything was going
great.
I put some new tyres on all 5 wheels on Saturday, and with the work thats been done, its a completely different bus... and quite good to drive, so i
did, a long drive in the hills yesterday and it went pretty good :-)
Needless to say I'm very happy with my sight unseen purchase, it's not "everything" it was claimed to be in the add, but hey it you get that...
Now on to RWC and full registration.....
