air-con switches?

Can anyonw tell me what the two on/off switches are for, that sit next to the aircon fan and aircon temp rotating switches. they do not show up in the manual or seem to make any difference to the fans operations.
Thanks.
mark.

Which car, and a photo might help.
If your talking about your '89 Caravelle, there are a number of different air-con's that were fitted to these, so what the switches are for will depend on what AC you have!!
The common ones are locally fitted in dash style, and over head style. Some also have factory fitted over head style. Controls will be differrent for each.
