Bay Dual-Cab - Underseat Area and Spare Tyre Query
Hi,
My front seats are 2 + 1, i.e. an individual drivers seat and a two-seat bench.
1. Under the bench part is a good-sized area for tools, tyres etc., but nothing to prevent these flying forward in a sudden stop; does anyone know
what *should* be there originally, it looks like there are holes for some sort of nifty cover. [photos would be appreciated]
2. Where was the spare originally stored in a dual-cab? I';ve got two spare wheels stuffed into the treasure chest, but no sign of hold-downs
etc.
3. In the same area, the front seat support area is covered in a bubble-finish kind of rubber; is this standard? Does anyone know were to source it?
Is carpet a better option? Are there carpet kits? (i.e. was the Microbus or some other variant carpeted?)

hi i got a 72 and my spare sits under the front seat passenger side,sorry just checked,{had some timber in the back for the fire}more in the middle
molded to fit with a bit going under the drivers seat think its got a hole in the middle but mine just sits there,

I've got mine just sittin under the double pass seat. It is usually with the outside down so as I can store nicks a nd knacks in the wheel. I
have never attempted to lock it in. It is so hard to get out, if I was in a prang where it came loose I would be in big trouble anyway!

the spare tyre area should be fully enclosed, so nothing should come out. Just put a piece of thick carpet to stop any rattles you are going to get
with tools etc. I cant fit any of my spares in there, so it's full of a lot of other stuff.
